There's been a shake-up of the funny pages over the past week that I am sure most of you heard about. I was interviewed about it for NPR, but for some reason they didn't print my most salient point: Scott Adams did this strategically and purposefully.
The demands of a daily strip are horrible--and in today's climate, an endeavor of diminishing returns. Instead of just straight up quitting, why not get yourself "canceled" by "woke" culture, and pivot into being a right-wing provocateur full-time? And just be a part-time cartoonist?
I guarantee you Adams will have his own show on Fox, Newsmax, OAN or whatever, very soon. His twitter followers have nearly doubled since this all went down.
Adams is an arrogant asshole. But he's not stupid.
And remember—Gunther knew all along.
...I just commented to the paper I draw for that Adams will probably end up on FOX not News. They're cancelling his strip too.
