YES!!!

Racism is a very old strategy designed to keep poor people from joining forces against the rich. This message is one you can't amplify enough.

Bacon's rebellion, man. The Indigenous, Indentured, and captive African People were already gathering in solidarity against the powerful, before the American Revolution, when their cooperative was broken up.

Sorry, wrong rebellion. Bacon's rebellion was a bunch of pissed-off white men who were mad because the king had a treaty with the Native Americans and allowed them a sliver of their own land to live on. And the white men were pissed off because the governor told them they couldn't murder all the Native Americans.

I shall look into this further, thank you. It is possible that my knowledge is incomplete

Normally I wouldn't be so declarative, Susan, and I apologize if I came across too strong. This is one I'm pretty clear on: my spouse is a direct descendant of the man who sold Bacon his land and whose family were some of Bacon's hostages--the White Apron Ladies.

Heartbreaking and so sadly true.

People of color and trans kids don't have a safe place or a fair chance in this racist world.

Being Jewish, I can relate to some of what it feels like to have history erased or to be vilified for being "other."

The utter hatred, intolerance, and animus is staggering and beyond shameful!
